Meet Our Team

Our team of trustees and volunteers is made up of passionate, caring individuals who are committed to supporting families and promoting positive infant feeding experiences. With diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, they play a vital role in guiding our work, running our sessions, and helping our charity thrive. Together, they bring energy, empathy, and expertise to everything we do.

lactation

This charity was one of my biggest dreams, to support women along their infant feeding journey with informed decisions.

I was told I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed, but I went on to nurse my child for 3.5 years. That journey became the inspiration behind my mission to support others. When I’m not talking about breastfeeding, I’m either reading about it or running up and down the South Downs thinking about it! I believe that every drop counts and that every breastfeeding journey, no matter its length - is a success story.

I’m a certified lactation counsellor, a proud mom to a beautiful little girl, and the slightly reluctant human of one very stubborn cat. In my work life, I’m also a proud business owner of a breastfeeding support service in East Sussex.

I'm a trustee because I'm passionate about supporting parents and increasing breastfeeding rates. I first got into this work during my university studies, where my dissertation explored ways to increase breastfeeding rates among teenagers and young parents, a topic I've always cared deeply about.

I have two beautiful daughters, a 14-year-old and a toddler, both of whom I breastfed, and I love practicing attachment parenting. I have recently trained as an ABM breastfeeding peer supporter and love helping mothers with their feeding journey. When I'm not busy with family or charity work, you'll likely find me running or at the gym.

I’m a trustee for this charity because I’m deeply passionate about supporting women and families through the transformative journey of parenthood. As a mum to two young daughters, with a 12-month-old and a 3-year-old, and a proud stepmum to two bonus babies, I’ve experienced first-hand the importance of having a strong support network.

My work as a postnatal and sling peer supporter reflects my commitment to empowering parents, and I feel strongly about advocating for women’s birthing and feeding rights, especially the importance of making informed choices about our bodies. Currently one year into a fulfilling breastfeeding journey with my youngest, I believe in nurturing confidence and community through shared experiences. When I’m not busy with family life or charity work, you’ll find me at the gym, playing rugby, socialising with other mums, reading, or dancing around the kitchen.

I’m a first-time mum to my one-year-old son and also a proud stepmum to a seven-year-old. We live near Hailsham, where I enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with my horse (although riding is a rare treat these days!). In my professional life, I am a document controller for a global infrastructure firm and run my own virtual assistant business supporting local companies.

Becoming a trustee for SCBfS is something I’m really proud of. My own breastfeeding journey had a difficult start, with challenges like weight loss, tongue tie, and low supply. Despite that, it grew into something I’m deeply passionate about. I'm grateful to be part of such a supportive and growing community, and I look forward to helping other families feel informed, encouraged, and confident in their own experiences.

I am stay-at-home mum to five wonderful children, from teenagers to a toddler, including two amazing stepchildren. We’re a blended family full of energy, love, and life’s ups and downs. Our home is beautifully chaotic, filled with the joys and challenges of raising neurodiverse children, and we’re also on a home-educating journey.

I’ve lived through the emotional rollercoaster of having a premature baby, time in NICU, birth trauma, postnatal depression, and anxiety. The struggle has been very real and some days, it still is. That’s why I’m deeply passionate about supporting other mums.

Here at Sunshine Coast Breastfeeding Support, I’m proud to stand beside other parents, sharing my story and holding space for theirs, because no one should feel alone in the hardest moments of motherhood.

I’m a mum of two and I’m passionate about supporting the mental health of parents. Whether you are first time parents or are adding to your family, those early stages postpartum can still be incredibly challenging, with each new baby bringing immense joy, but also new challenges to your partnership and/or the family dynamic.

I’m a volunteer for Sunshine Coast Breastfeeding Support because I have experienced two very different journeys with breastfeeding, and know from my second time around that with the right support you and your baby can thrive on their feeding journey.
